Excellent multipurpose "heavy" fly reel for a good price

I don't understand the trend in super lightweight fly reels. I had an auto reel model from pflueger (old one not a new one) that weighed much more than this one dose and I did just fine learning to fly fish over the last few years. I would rather have a balance rod then one that feels super heavy at the tip, but hey, I guess i'm weird.
***NOTE:***
The discs are shielded but not sealed so if it takes a swim you might want to at least take the spool off and blow it out good. When you get a chance, re-grease it. If it get's droped in salt water, give it rinse in fresh water (ASAP) "then" blow off/out the insides (re-grease when you can). Trust me, not even salt water is going to kill this thing if you keep it well greased and clean (and out of the water...).
The machine work and finfish on this reel is defiantly top shelf. The arbor spins true and is robust enough to take a drop. The drag is incredibly smooth though I'm not sure how well it would do on a 200 foot bonefish or steelhead run... If you're one of the few that likes to bass fish with a fly rod the larger models are for you. It`s a perfect real for larger shorter running fish. This reel would be good for full length rods that need a heavy reel to get good balance.
The one-way bearing is also reversible for right or left handed users (nice!)
I currently have it match up to this (below), and it balances almost perfectly on this full length 4 pc 5wt rod.
