Pflueger tend to make attractive, feature-rich reels that are made with only quality components. This can lead to them being slightly more expensive than other reels and sometimes a tad heavier too. This isn't a bad thing though, as the build quality shines through in most cases.
I once spotted a group of 10 or so fisherman on a random excursion and all of them were using either shimano reels, or pflueger reels and the camp was evenly split on which company made the best reels - this seems to be a common trend and most people are one-or-the-other.
